About us

More than a distributor.
A Texas institution.

Over a century of showing up.

C.D. Hartnett has been serving Texas businesses longer than most of our customers' businesses have existed. That kind of continuity is not an accident. It is what happens when you put the customer first, every time.

Our History

1880

Founded in Texas

The C.D. Hartnett Company begins operations in Texas, establishing a distribution model built around personal relationships and reliable service to local grocery and convenience businesses.

1904

Incorporated in Texas

Formal incorporation establishes the company as a full-line grocery distributor, laying the foundation for decades of growth across the state.

Mid-Century

Expanding into Foodservice

The Foodservice Division opens to serve restaurants, institutions, schools, and assisted living facilities across North Texas.

Today

Two Centers. 12,000 Items. One Standard.

Operating from 212,000 square feet across two distribution centers in Weatherford and Fort Worth, C.D. Hartnett serves convenience stores, foodservice operators, and institutions throughout Texas, with the same commitment that has defined the company since day one.

Grocery and Convenience

Full-line distribution for the Texas C-store market.

Our Weatherford distribution center is the hub for grocery and convenience store distribution across North and Central Texas. We carry over 12,000 items and deliver on our own trucks, which means the relationship does not end at the loading dock.
C-store operators rely on us for consistent product availability, competitive pricing, and a distribution partner who understands their business. Whether a customer runs one location or a regional chain, they get the same reliable service.

Foodservice Distribution

Customer-driven distribution for the foodservice trade.

Our Fort Worth foodservice center serves a wide range of operators across Texas, from independent restaurants and fast food locations to schools, assisted living communities, hotels, day-care facilities, and institutional accounts.
We approach foodservice differently. Our sales staff are trained to act as consultants, not just order takers. Our mission is to help our customers succeed, because when they succeed, we succeed.
